Kia ora.  I’m Erin Daldry, a master life coach from New Zealand.  I’m down here in the South Pacific but I see clients from all over the world thanks to the magic that is ‘online’, and my preparedness to work odd hours.

Working with people who have a dysregulated relationship with food is hugely rewarding.  I love supporting clients to take time out of that exhausting cycle of constantly thinking about food to work out what’s really going on for them.  That gives them the chance to make better choices, not only about food, but about how they take care of and prioritise themselves. People are endlessly fascinating and it’s a joy to see someone emerge from the emotional eating trap with tools and attitudes to move forwards in life.

I became an Eating Freely Coach because lots of what Emma Murphy says made sense for the coaching clients I was seeing at the time.  They weren’t emotional and binge eating – that I knew of anyway – but they were dealing with similar triggers in their own way.  So much of what’s in the Eating Freely course is applicable to general life that I decided to take her training.  Working with my first few clients made me realise how powerful this is.  This programme has a wonderful balance of information for your head, heart and body – the combination you need to come to your best relationship with food.

My own story with food has been interesting to say the least.  Sugar has long been my go-to when I’m triggered, so I get what it’s like to under the spell of it.  This snippet makes me laugh but resonates so much: “Sugar doesn’t care if you break up with it.  It just hangs around in the cupboard looking alluring and will take you back, no questions asked.”   There’s so much freedom in understanding what’s happening when I reach for it and seeing it for what it is.
