Hello, and welcome back to session 2. The theme of last session was the Three F’s – Feed Yourself Properly, Forgive Yourself Quickly, and Focus on Health and Wellbeing as your Goal for Now. You also began using the HALT Chart, and I hope you are already seeing a reduction in your emotional/binge eating episodes as a result.
The theme of this session is to develop a clear picture of WHY you need to commit to a new way of relating to food and your body.
Constant dieting, constantly being concerned with your weight, your appearance and what other people think of you is exhausting. And not only that, but it takes up a LOT of your time, energy and focus away from other things.
This session we look at the impact of dieting, restriction and having lots of Food Rules, and introduce a different approach. I know you may find this session quite challenging, so I invite you to watch it several times, and take the time to do the written exercises too.
Please download your ‘homework’ for this session – Challenging Your Food Rules. You may find it helpful to come back and do this exercise again in 2-3 Sessions time, so maybe print off two copies today, and leave one blank copy in your folder or journal.
I invite you to diary this in for about 3 Sessions time, to re-do the Challenging your Food Rules exercise. You may be surprised at the differences in your responses between now and then!
